Paperless Statement FAQs
What is a paperless statement?
A paperless statement is an electronic version of your periodic statement available through Online Banking. A paperless statement contains the same information as your paper statement, in the same format and is presented as an Adobe® Portable Document Format (PDF) file that you can view, print or save at your convenience.
How do I view my cancelled checks and statements?
Both checks and statements are available in Online Banking.
To view your checks: On the “Account Detail” screen, locate the check and click “Front” or “Back” to view the check. Check images are available for ninety (90) days.
To view your statements: In the “Accounts” section of Online Banking, go to “Statement” on the left hand menu. Click on the dropdown menus to select the account and the statement you wish to see; then click “View Statements.” Paperless statements are available to view and print for up to seven (7) years.
How much do paperless statements cost?
Paperless statements are free.
What types of accounts are paperless statements available for?
Paperless statements are currently available for personal checking, savings, money market and credit card accounts.
How do I sign up for paperless statements?
- Log in to Online Banking and under "Customer Service" click "Account Management"
- Choose "Statement Options"
- Follow the instructions to activate your paperless statement
After enrollment, when will I receive my first paperless statement?
Paperless statements are always available to customers who have activated Online Banking. We will send an email (to the email address you provide when you select the option) notifying you when your paperless statement becomes available each month. If you are currently receiving a paper statement delivered by U.S. Mail, it will be delivered for one (1) statement cycle after selection of the paperless statement option.
I signed up for paperless statements, why am I still receiving paper statements?
If you are currently receiving a paper statement delivered by U.S. Mail, it will be delivered for one (1) statement cycle after selection of the paperless statement option.
How far back can I access my paperless statements?
Each paperless statement, including any legal notices about your Account which are provided electronically as part of your statement, will remain available online for seven (7) years. You may also print the statements or download to your own system as needed.
What software do I need to view paperless statements?
Your paperless statements will be delivered as an Adobe® Portable Document Format (PDF) file. To access and retain a PDF file, you need the free Adobe® Reader® (version 6.0 or higher).
Will paperless statements have the same information as paper statements?
Yes, a paperless statement contains the same information as your paper statement.
Can my joint account holder view the paperless statements?
Yes, as long as the joint account holder has access to Online Banking.
How can I change the email address that my paperless statement notification is sent to?
You may change your email address in Online Banking under “Customer Service”. Click on “My Profile”; then select “Email Address.”
How will I know when my paperless statement is available?
We will send an email reminder (to the email address you provided to us) notifying you when your paperless statement becomes available to view through Online Banking. Email notification is automatically enabled when you elect the paperless statement option.
If I don’t receive or if I delete my email notification, can I still view my paperless statement?
Yes, just log in to Online Banking. In the “Accounts” section of Online Banking, go to “Statement” on the left hand menu. Click on the drop down menus to select the account and the statement you wish to see; then click “View Statements.”
Can email notifications be sent to multiple email addresses?
No, email notifications cannot be sent to multiple email addresses at this time.
Why didn’t I receive my paperless statement notification for this period?
An incorrect email address or email filter could be the issue. To confirm we have the correct email address for you, log in to Online Banking and click on “My Profile” under “Customer Service” and select “Email Address”. If the email address is incorrect, please update your email address. If the email address is correct, your email filter may be blocking emails sent from our email address. If so, please adjust your filter or junk mail settings to allow emails coming from Commerce Bank (asklistensolve.com). This will allow you to receive paperless statement notifications from us.
What if I want to receive paper statements again?
You may change your statement option three ways:
- Log in to Online Banking and under "Customer Service" click "Account Management" and select "Choose your Statement Options/Stop Paper Statements"
- Call 800-368-6835
- Come by your nearest Commerce branch
Credit Card Paperless Statements
Why didn’t I receive a statement for this period?
Regardless of format (paper or electronic), periodic statements are only produced if credit card transaction activity has occurred during a given statement cycle.
Can I sign up for credit card paperless statements even if I don’t have a Commerce deposit or savings account?
Yes, paperless statements are available for all credit cardholders regardless of deposit or savings account relationships.
If I have multiple credit card accounts, can I receive paperless statements only for selected accounts?
Yes, you may select a statement delivery option for each credit card account you have with Commerce Bank.
Which Commerce Bank credit cards are eligible to enroll in paperless statements?
All personal credit card accounts are eligible to enroll in paperless statements.
Can I mail in my payment if I receive paperless statements?
Yes, but you can save time and money by making payments through Online Banking; just transfer money from your checking or savings account to make the payment. Payments can also be mailed to Commerce Bank; PO Box 806000; Kansas City, MO 64180-6000. Include your name, address and account number with your payment.
